Context

Why families here look at Australia

Some honest context rather than a sales pitch. These are the reasons that come up most often in our conversations, with the public data behind them where it exists.

An established Pakistani community

At the 2021 Census, 89,633 people living in Australia were born in Pakistan, with a median age of 33. It is a young, recently arrived community, so newcomers are rarely the first person they know to make the move.

Established in every major city

This is a national community, not a single-city one. New South Wales and Victoria are home to the largest populations, with substantial communities in Western Australia, Queensland, South Australia and the ACT. Wherever your course or your family takes you, you are unlikely to be arriving somewhere with no community at all.

Education is already the norm

Among Pakistan-born Australians aged 15 and over, 59.7% hold a bachelor degree or above. Study is the most common route into Australia from Pakistan, and higher education is the main pathway.

Family reunion is a genuine driver

Two thirds of Australia's Pakistan-born population arrived between 2011 and 2021, and just over half are now Australian citizens. That creates real demand for partner, parent and visitor visas, not just student visas.

Recognised qualifications

Australian institutions are regulated nationally, and qualifications are widely recognised internationally. We can talk through how a specific course fits your plans, without promising any career outcome.

A regulated migration profession

Anyone giving Australian immigration assistance must be registered and is bound by a legally enforceable Code of Conduct. That protection is worth understanding before you choose any consultant.

Study

Studying in Australia, starting from Pakistan

Most people who come to our Kharian office start here. This is what we can work through with you locally, before any visa application is prepared in Australia.

  • Course and institution selection

Comparing courses, providers and locations against your background, your budget and what you actually want to do afterwards.

  • Admissions and documents

Understanding entry requirements and getting your academic documents in order before you apply to an institution.

  • English language requirements

Which tests are accepted, what a given provider asks for, and how long results take to arrange from Pakistan.

  • Financial planning

Understanding tuition, living costs and the evidence of funds a student visa application needs. The required amounts are set by the Department and change, so we confirm the current figures with you rather than quoting them here.

  • Health cover (OSHC)

Overseas Student Health Cover is a condition of the student visa. We explain how it works and what to check before you buy.

  • Before you leave

Practical preparation for arrival, including accommodation, first-week costs and what to expect in the first month.

The process

What it actually looks like from Pakistan

A realistic sequence, including the steps that only apply if you are applying from Pakistan. Timeframes vary by case and by the Department's current processing, so we will not quote one here.

  1. 1

    First conversation in Kharian

    Pakistan partner

We talk through what you want to do, what is realistic, and what it is likely to cost. If we do not think a plan is workable, we will say so at this stage.

  2. 2

    Course and institution applications

    Pakistan partner

We help you assemble the documents an institution asks for and track your applications until you have an offer.

  3. 3

Accepting an offer and arranging cover

    Pakistan partner

Confirming enrolment and arranging the health cover required before a visa application can be lodged.

  4. 4

    Visa strategy and lodgement

    Australian office

Your file moves to our Registered Migration Agent in Australia, who assesses eligibility, prepares the application and lodges it. This step is immigration assistance and cannot be done by our Pakistan partner.

  5. 5

    Biometrics and health checks

    You, locally

Applicants in Pakistan are generally asked to provide biometrics at an Australian visa application centre, and to complete a medical examination with a panel physician. Plan for travel to a major city for these appointments.

  6. 6

    Decision and departure

    Both offices

We keep you updated while the application is with the Department, and help you prepare for arrival once a decision is made. We never predict the outcome.

Visa application centre locations, biometric requirements and panel physician details are set by the Australian Government and change. Always check the current position before travelling for an appointment. Australian High Commission, Pakistan.

What to expect

How we support clients in Pakistan

The practical difference a local office makes, and the limits of what it can do.

Two people at a table, one passing a closed folder of documents across to the other beside cups of chai

A conversation in person

You can meet someone locally rather than starting with a form or a stranger on a call from another country.

One coordinated file

Your documents are collected once and shared with the Australian team, so you are not asked for the same thing repeatedly.

Clear communication

You will know who is handling which part of your matter, and what the next step is at any point.

Realistic advice

If a plan is unlikely to work, or the timing is wrong, we would rather tell you early than take a fee to find out later.

Australian professional oversight

The immigration side of your matter is handled under Australian regulation, not informally.

No outcome promises

We do not guarantee visas, admission, scholarships or employment, and we will be direct about anything outside our control.

For parents and families

If you are supporting someone else's application

In most of the conversations we have, the decision is not being made by one person alone. Parents, siblings and spouses are often the ones weighing the cost, the timing and whether it is the right move at all.

You are welcome at the consultation. It is usually more useful to have everyone who is part of the decision in the room once, rather than passing information along afterwards.

  • We will talk openly about total cost, not just the first payment
  • We will explain what is and is not within anyone's control
  • We will not pressure a decision or set artificial deadlines
  • You can take our written information away and think about it

Choosing a consultant

Questions worth asking any consultant, including us

Many families here have dealt with agents before, and not always well. These are reasonable questions to ask anyone who offers to help with an Australian application.

Who exactly will give the immigration advice, and are they registered to do so?

What is included in the fee, and what is charged separately?

Will I get the scope of work and the fee in writing before I pay anything?

What happens to my money and my documents if I change my mind?

What is the complaints process if something goes wrong?

Can you tell me the realistic weaknesses in my case, not just the strengths?

If any consultant is unwilling to answer these plainly, that is useful information in itself.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers to what we are asked most often by clients in Pakistan.

Can our Pakistan partner give me advice about my visa?
Our Pakistan partner provides education consulting, client support, and acts as our data collection point. Immigration assistance for Australian visas, including advice on which visa to apply for and whether you are eligible, is provided only by our Registered Migration Agent in Australia.
Is Muhammad Osman Ahmed a Registered Migration Agent?
No. Muhammad Osman Ahmed is our trusted Pakistan partner and education consultant, operating independently in Pakistan. He supports prospective students and families with course selection, documents and coordination. Immigration assistance for Australian visas is provided only by our Registered Migration Agent in Australia.
How much money do I need to show for a student visa?
Use our student visa funds calculator to work out the amount for your own situation. It applies the current legislated figures to your course length, tuition already paid, and any partner or children travelling with you, and shows the annual-income alternative as well. Because the Department updates these amounts, the calculator is the figure to rely on rather than anything quoted from memory.
Which English test do I need?
It depends on the institution and the course, and in some cases on the visa. Different providers accept different tests and set different minimum scores. Bring your target course to a consultation and we will tell you what that specific provider requires.
Do I need to travel for biometrics?
Applicants in Pakistan are generally asked to provide biometrics at an Australian visa application centre, which means travelling to a major city. Requirements and locations are set by the Australian Government and change, so check the current position on the Australian High Commission website before you travel.
Can my family visit me while I am studying?
Visitor visas and, in some cases, student dependant arrangements may be available, but whether either fits depends on the circumstances of both you and your family member. That assessment is immigration assistance and is handled by our Registered Migration Agent.
Can you guarantee my visa will be approved?
No, and neither can anyone else. Only the Department of Home Affairs decides visa applications. Any consultant who guarantees an outcome, an approval rate or a processing time is not being straight with you. What we can do is prepare your application carefully and tell you honestly how we rate your prospects.
What does a consultation cost, and what do I get?
Fees are set out on our fee guide, and you will receive the scope of work and the cost in writing before you commit to anything. Government charges are always separate from our professional fee.

Start with a conversation, not a commitment.

Come and talk through what you are considering. You will leave knowing what is realistic, what it costs, and what the next step is, whether or not you go ahead with us.
